Code of conduct. (Or how to be good little member and prevent a spanking from Kayla)
Introduction:
First of all, there is one major rule in this guild: everyone has fun. Now for this I would like every single member to maintain the standard we always had concerning helping each other out and be social in guild chat. Goofing of can be a plus at times, but of course be careful not to hurt anyone’s feelings.
Lowar is built around 3 pillars: friendship, fun and respect. We expect all our members to live up to these values to their best abilities. Respect also means a certain level of maturity, although there will be room for the occasional (if not frequent) goofing of.
We expect all members to keep themselves to the EULA of the games they play within a lowar capacity.
On positions within the guild:
Now the leaders and officers have all very much earned the position they are currently holding. Regardless of the game(s) Lowar is currently tackling. The fact that some spots might at times be vacant even though we have a considerable number of members is prove alone that we don’t go lightly about promoting people. Anyone holding a rank in this guild has been with us for a while, and has proven his loyalty and dedication to all, not by character level alone, but mostly by playing hard, working even harder for the guild and being social, considerate to other members and last but not least very fun to have around.
When an officer retires for whatever reason, he is rewarded by being able to keep certain priviledges for past accomplishments. And most of all we expect everyone to still respect this person, even though he or she no longer has any active roll in management (and is expected to keep that in mind).
On attendance:
When an active online member is not gonna be online for longer periods (At least 14 days) it is required to make this known by either posting it to the boards or telling a member of the command structure.
For a recruit this period is 7 days. is recruitment period will be prolongued as well in that case.
After a member hasn't been online for a month without word he will be removed from the guildroster. For a recruit this period is 14 days.
If someone who has been removed later contacts the guild and has a solid reason for his absense, the guildmanangement has the option to reinstate him/her to his old rank or any rank below.
Active online Guildies are expected to visit the website (newspage and forum) at least twice a week. As all events, raids, crafting needs, etc can be posted here, this will have the guild run more smoothly.
For community or real life members these are not requirments although regular forum visits are encoureaged.
On guild membership:
Someone who leaves the guild without explanation is not allowed back in. People who left but with an explanation can be considered to be either reinstated or given another chance as recruit again at a later period. This is no certainty and will be decided upon by the guild management.
On building and recourses:
This guild is all about helping each other. We have officers to help, so contact them and use the boards to ask for any stuff or advice you need. Give and you shall receive, so make sure to be generous to other guildmembers as well. Just don't nag or bug other members, always be polite. We like to help out if we can, but we just can't drop everything in the middle of a combat raid just because someone would like a new sword for a level 15 tank.
On guild chat:
First rule : n0 ub3r 1337 r0xx0rz t4lk pl34s3
(If you don’t know this, keep it that way)
When someone asks around for an answer, even if you can’t help him, answering him is still polite. However, if noon answers for whatever reason spamming guildchat won’t be tolerated either. Sometimes people are AFK, or in heavy combat or private chat and they don’t have time or just don’t notice. Also, usually when none answers a call, it could mean that none can atm. Wining about it won’t help you then.
We goof around and make jokes at each others expense on Guild Chat. A lot. Still, we are always careful not to hurt each other’s feelings. If you do make a joke at someone’s expense, ask yourself 2 questions: ‘Would I tolerate it if someone used me as a pin-cushion in this way?’ and ‘Do I know this person well enough to know what he would find offensive or not.’
We like our members to be social, and joking around is an important part of that. However, we will not tolerate (and this in the strictest way) any remark that is offensive. If you unintentionally do hurt someone’s feelings and notice it, do apologize.
Also, as stated above, harassing other members and ‘wining’ about everything will not be tolerated in the strictest way. If a conflict does occur, the highest ranking officer present will intervene, ether if private or public as he best sees fit at that moment.
If someone does have a problem with another player he will tell either the Guild leaders or an officer if no guild leader is available, and the problem will be dealt with in the fairest way possible.
On the lowar site/forum.
When you registered on these forums, you agreed that admins/mods have the right to edit/move/delete posts as they seem fit. Remember this.
Lowar is about respect and fun. Bashing people, flaming, getting personal, etc ... is disrespectful and not fun. We encoureage critisism and want our members to speak their minds, but will NOT tolerate any abuse of the forum.
In short we will never act against a message or opinion, but we WILL act when we feel that message or opinion is worded in an offensive or hurtfull way.
On relations with non-guild players:
We like to create a reputation of being fun people, and we expect every single member to live up to that. Always be nice to other people, don’t flame or KS em. Try to suck it in when someone does you wrong (but don’t be a pussy about it either) but do contact a ranked member if it is a serious problem. We will contact that players guild, and if that does not help we will take other actions. We are very nice people. We are also very much proud and strong, and will not tolerate one of our members being wronged.
Normally relations with other guilds will be handled by the PR-officer or the Leadership.
On open chat channels:
Lowar will be taxated on how it's members behave in open chat channels, forums, etc. Therefor we expect members to behave at their best.
